Obol and Primev Join Forces to Make Ethereum Fast

Node operators running Obol Distributed Validators can opt into Primev’s mev-commit network for superior economics and reduced latency.

Obol and Primev Join Forces to Make Ethereum Fast

Primev lets validators earn additional revenue by leveraging preconfirmations. Node operators running Obol Distributed Validators can opt in to mev-commit now.

Obol and Primev Unite

The MEV supply chain has inspired some of the most cutting-edge innovations in Ethereum. As the ecosystem has grown, elite-tier builders have shipped useful infrastructure in a bid to illuminate the dark forest.

Primev is one of the leading teams in MEV research, focused on bringing privacy and real-time commitment to Ethereum L1 with preconfirmations. Its flagship offering, mev-commit, offers 24ms blocktimes and MEV protection on L1.

With mev-commit, independent actors in the MEV supply chain can capture value and offer UX improvements. Validators are among mev-commit’s biggest beneficiaries because they can plug into it to increase their staking revenue.

Now, Obol is partnering with Primev to empower Ethereum stakers. Node operators running Distributed Validators can opt into mev-commit to boost their yield while capturing all the benefits of our end game staking configuration.

Obol Distributed Validators are the most secure and performant validators on Ethereum. By opting into Primev, node operators can now enjoy boosted returns while supporting a faster Ethereum.

How Validators Can Boost Their Rewards With mev-commit

Primev’s mev-commit protocol creates alignment between participants in the MEV supply chain while offering extremely fast blocktimes. In doing so, mev-commit reduces toxic flow and MEV leakages, thereby making Ethereum fairer and more resilient.

Preconfirmations play a central role in mev-commit. Block builders make them and proposers sign them, effectively creating a receipt for transactions waiting in the mempool. As preconfirmations reduce MEV leakage, builders and proposers can earn ~5.88% APY (vs. the usual ~3% APY) for their participation in the supply chain.

Primev has long used restaking infrastructure from Eigenlayer AVS and Symbiotic to provide preconfirmations. Additionally, Primev is planning to integrate Swell, which would allow validators to restake their assets. This is significant because those who opt in would be able to maximize their returns through preconfirmations and restaking at the same time. As Obol is compatible with Primev, node operators running Distributed Validators can now also access these benefits.

Fast Swaps and Real-Time Ethereum UX

Preconfirmations don’t just improve validator economics. They also unlock real-time applications on Ethereum.

Primev’s Fast Protocol leverages mev-commit to power Fast Swaps, enabling users to receive execution guarantees in milliseconds directly on Ethereum L1. This eliminates uncertainty around transaction inclusion and protects against MEV leakages.

As adoption of Fast Swaps grows, the demand for preconfirmations increases, which directly benefits validators participating in mev-commit. By opting in, Obol Distributed Validator operators can boost yield and support a new class of low-latency, MEV-protected applications built natively on Ethereum.

Distributed Validators and the Staking End Game

Obol represents the staking end game. Our infrastructure eliminates single points of failure and addresses the various shortcomings associated with legacy validators. As Distributed Validators are more performant with higher uptime than legacy validators, they give node operators better returns.

Obol’s partnership with Primev gives node operators a way to plug into the MEV supply chain for the first time. Preconfirmations transform the MEV supply chain and Primev uses them to give stakers a better experience. Now, Distributed Validator operators can leverage them too.

But Obol and Primev’s alignment goes beyond improving staking rewards. Primev’s mev-commit brings light to the dark forest and makes Ethereum fast while Obol Distributed Validators keep the network secure. To that end, we’re united by a common purpose: making the Ethereum ecosystem stronger and more resilient.

With mev-commit securing validator economics and Fast Protocol enabling real-time execution, Primev and Obol are advancing Ethereum toward a future that is both secure and instant.
